• October 21 - 24 2009: Participation of CCIHC at the 10th Business Forum of
the Greater Caribbean in Haiti
• September 14 -17 2009: Trip of the Executive Director of CCIHC Ms. Elodie
Cajuste in Jamaica as part of the 10th Business Forum
of the Greater Caribbean, which will be held from October 21 to
24, 2009 in Haiti.
• September 14 -25 2009: Trip of the President of CCIHC, Mr. Hervé Denis to China
and Japan as part of the 10th Business Forum of the
Greater Caribbean to be held from October 21 to 24, 2009 in
Haiti.
• August 6 to 9 2009: Participation of CCIHC represented by Mr. Hervé Denis at
the Second Annual Congress of The Haitian League in Miami.
• July 13 to 20 2009: Meeting of the President of the CCIHC, Mr. Hervé Denis and
Executive Director, Ms. Elodie Cajuste with the Commercial Agent
of the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, Mr.
Emmanuel Choute in order to have a better
understanding of the operations environment of Canadian businesses
in Haiti and the challenges they face,
such as AXXIUM, MARIEN MINING COMPANY S.A. and LGL /
SNC Lavalin.
•June 15 2009: Trip of the Executive Director, Ms. Elodie Cajuste to Jamaica, for follow up of the
private sector negotiations (EPA agreement)) between the Caribbean
countries and upcoming negotiations with Canada.
•June 6 to 10 2009: Trip of the Executive Director, Ms. Elodie Cajuste to
Guadeloupe, to participate in a training workshop
organized by Caribbean Export. Themes:
1. CARICOM and EPA (European Union)
2. Tool for promoting trade and development in the region.
• May 29, 2009: Meeting of Mr. Herve Denis, Mr. and Mrs. Frantz Liautaud
Elodie Cajuste with the Ambassador of Haiti to CARICOM,
Mr. Earl Huntley, to establish a joint
information program on the CARICOM.
• May 28, 2009: Participation of the Executive Director, Ms. Elodie Cajuste
at an informational meeting at Montana Hotel organized by ADIH jointly with CLED on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between CARIFORUM and the EU.
• May 27, 2009: Meeting of Mr. Herve Denis, Mr. and Mrs. Frantz Liautaud and
Elodie Cajuste with Maria Kim, Second Secretary
of the Canadian Cooperation at the Embassy of Canada in
part to consider funding opportunities by CIDA for
CCIHC training programs.
• May 27, 2009: Meeting of the President, Mr. Herve Denis, with Jean Paul
Riverin, Project manager at the International Affairs
Division, expert consultant in Entrepreneurial Culture and
Local Development in Haiti and Mr. Undrick Céus, coordinator / support to entrepreneurship through institutional support
in local communities.
• May 25, 2009: Seminar organized by the office of the American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in collaboration
with CCIHC as part of a program to help
Haitian entrepreneurs in the agro sector, to enter the
Canadian market.
• May 22, 2009: Participation of Mr. Hervé Denis and Mr. Frantz Liautaud to
a dinner held Friday, May 22, at the Reserve Restaurant, during the mission of the Member of parliament for Hull and Parliamentary Assistant
of Quebec Minister of International Relations, Maryse Gaudreault, to evaluate the
cooperation between Quebec and Haiti.
• May 6, 2009: Participation of Mr Frantz Liautaud in a workshop /
Mission of a special advisory group of the economic and Social sectors
of the United Nations (ECOSOC) to
evaluate the efforts and progress made by countries
in development.
•May 4 - 8, 2009: Participation of the Executive Director and a
CCIHC member , Intext Design, represented by Mrs.
Farah Woolley in Barbados as part of getting
Canadian companies prepared to export to Europe,
in particular, Scandinavia.
• April 29, 2009: Participation of the Vice President, Mr. Gerard-Marie Tardieu,
one of the CCIHC advisers Mr Frantz Liautaud to a meeting organized by the Ministry of Youth
and Sports as part of the development of a national policy for the Youth, Sports and Civil Action.
• April 9, 2009: Participation of the President of the CCIHC, Mr. Hervé Denis to a
ceremony organized by the office of the Prime Minister
to launch an Integrated Human Resources Management
and public training System.
• March 17 - 19 2009: Participation of CCIHC (represented by the Executive Director) in Barbados in the negotiations of CARICOM member countries.
• February 11 2009: Small business luncheon organized by the CCIHC, in the context of new provisions of the Central Bank.
• January 15 - 18 2009: Visit of the Honorable Michaëlle Jean, in part to reaffirm Canada's solidarity with Haiti after the storms of 2008.
